Wig care routine

A good routine to carry out on your wig very 8-12 wears.

  1. Gently de-tangle the hair with a wide tooth comb. Start from the ends taking care not to pull out hair.
  2. Rinse, then massage a small amount of mild shampoo evenly throughout the hair and cap before gently rinsing again.
  3. For synthetic hair, use leave-in conditioner towards the ends, avoiding the roots. For human hair, conditioner is not always necessary, only when the fibres are dry and are lacking in shine. Again, keep conditioner to the ends, away from the roots.
  4. Dry the hair by firstly blotting with a towel. For synthetic hair: leave to dry naturally on a wig stand. For human hair: dry and style as normal hair. Use styling products as required.

Nioxin

Thinning hair is a common problem, affecting 50% of men and women globally.

Nioxin is a dermabrasion treatment with applications and products that help to regenerate and revitalise your scalp.

Nioxin helps to strengthen your existing hair, by cleansing away, detoxifying and dissolving build-up on the scalp and hair follicles. It opens up the path for nutrients to enter and feed the roots for healthy hair. It restores the moisture balance to the scalp, increases cellular energy and restores elasticity to the hair. It also increases microcirculation by using your body’s oxygen-containing blood and the nutrients to feed your hair follicles.

Although not originally developed for cancer patients, Nioxin has been proven safe even for use during chemotherapy treatments to help promote a healthy scalp. If used before chemotherapy and radiation treatments, Nioxin will strengthen the hair and remove toxins, protecting the hair from damage on a cellular level.
